Learning the banjo - Day 1
Просмотров 2014 дней назад
I’ve never learned to play an instrument or read sheet music. This is my first attempt, day 1, following this: ruclips.net/video/Tm4ZJWTQXng/видео.htmlsi=XamuAmORhBbtKPXM I figured I’d document my progress, simply for myself to see how things go over time…

This is a 2004 SL55 AMG with a normal vario roof operation. I replaced all the hydraulic cylinders and even 3D printed the dowel in the roof that triggers the sensor in the roof header that the roof is closed. If you need the lock dowel, I uploaded the dowel here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5142412 Operation should be the same on 2003-2012 SL350, SL500, SL600, and SL65

You suck! 🤣
Haha, yes I do!
What did you clad the walls in? Thanks
@danielwilson7714 I used primed siding panels: www.lowes.com/pd/SmartSide-38-Series-Primed-Engineered-Panel-Siding-Common-0-315-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-Actual-0-315-in-x-48-563-in-x-95-875-in/3058153

Your running The plywood in the wrong direction
There is no such thing as a treeless tree house, if there is no trees it's an elevated house.
Thanks captain obvious.
How did you make it
I just came up with a plan in my head around the size of plywood sheets. Since they're 8'x4', 2 sheets would be 8'x8', adding a third makes it 8'x12'. And since wall panels are usually also 4' wide, I decided to make the enclosure 8'x8' with a porch. From there, width of the beams would normally be 1" to 1' of length, so 12' long beams would be 12" wide, but since this is a play house of sorts, I went smaller to save cost & weight.
Also, check the reply I posted for the other comment, I gave more of a material breakdown
What course is this?
Old Course, Half Moon Bay, CA
That was a blast! Great to experience it with you.
I'm still amazed I just happened to catch it on video. Thanks for putting this round together!
Great looking treehouse! Are those 4x4 posts? Do you by chance have a list of materials you used? Thank you.
@charles Hall - Yes, they're 4x4s, which I feel like 6x6 should have been used, but each 4x4 can handle about 3000 lbs vertically, and the braces on each help sturdy it. I dug them down about 3' and a 10" or 12" post hole auger, then filled with cement. We had tornado-force winds several months ago that blew down several fences in my area, blew the back fence behind the treehouse down & up against the treehouse posts, as well as other sections of multiple neighbors' adjoining yards, and the treehouse still stands, so I guess it's solid. I bought two (2) more 4x4s to add on the long sides, just in case, but it hasn't shifted and feels sturdy. Materials (off the top of my head): Posts = 4"x4"x10' - I did 4x of them, adding 2x more. 6x6 may be more sturdy if you plan on having more weight up there. Floor frame = 2"x8" (2x 12' and 2x 8') - I would trim the 12-footers to make sure the outside lengths are 8'x12'. Mine ended up 8'x12'3" because I put the 8' beams outside the 12' beams. Not sure why I didn't think of this beforehand. Floor joists = 2"x6"x8', and placed every 16" on center (9 of them, 8 if you keep it 8'x12'). Floor = Three (3) 4'x8'x3/4" treated plywood Walls = 2"x4"x8' studs on 16" centers, 9 per solid wall, 10 if you double up the top plate, and are 8'x8'. You'll need to adjust for door & window frames. I believe I cut the wall studs down to 6' (or made overall wall height 6', I don't recall, I'll go measure if I remember) and then set the roof beam height of 8' for the exterior wall panels to fit without trimming or adding. Roof ridge beam = 2"x8"x12 Rafters = 2"x4" on 20" centers - I forget the length, I think I bought six (6) 12-footers & cut in half, then used an online calculator for angles & birds mouth notch. Roof = eight(8) 12' panels I cut in half, mounted on some 1"x2"x12' runners, trimmed the last one for proper width Wall panels = eight (8) 4'x8' panels Deck railing = four (4) 6' preassembled panels Ladder = four (4) 2"x8"x12' - I just winged this, trimmed to where I wanted & cut the rungs to what felt like a decent width Slide = www.lowes.com/pd/Swing-N-Slide-7-ft-Turbo-Tube-Yellow-Slide/1000379755 **NOTE** For lengths, you really should do 1:1 inches to feet, so my floor frame should have been 2"x12" outsides with 2"x8" joists, but since it's a funhouse for kids, I didn't build as sturdy as if it's real tiny house. My daughter & 4 of her friends aren't even 400lbs combined, whereas my dad & I combined, with the tools, are above that, and it was still plenty sturdy with a couple other full-sized adults on it.
Do you sell those dowels?
I do not. I can send the 3D file.
@eddie mm - I'll upload the file to thingiverse so you and anyone else can print it themselves or have it printed.

Looking great man! How tall is it underneath the platform and what are the dimensions of the interior?
@Jared Campbell Sorry for the late reply, I didn't see the comment. At the back right corner, shortest corner, the floor is about 7 feet high, the left front corner is about 7'7". The main platform is 8'x12', and the inside is roughly 8'x8', with 6' tall walls. I'll try to do a full walkthrough when it's done. The latest video of me building the slide mount & railing was corrupt and wouldn't play ☹️
NICE!
Thanks for posting this...
I wondered where everyone was...
Haha good stuff! I almost held you off the whole time but you drafted me and snuck by me on the hill!! lol
Skyler Moore I finally gave in and converted my account to my name, so now I can comment. That day was so fun.
Nice Cat. Nice time. But my S code 390 '67 Cougar Xr-7 Gt run faster w/ the big block. Any 302 w/ a tunnel ram can run an 11.7. Street legal. So you shoulda got more outta that 351. Like I SAID, NICE RIDE, but you gotta get that girl into the high 10's or low 11's. 12.2 is street racing shit.
